You are here: Home » Article details 'BATTERY MOTORCYCLE YTZ7S-FPZ JMT'
Lithium-ion batteries from JMT, high-tech for your motorcycle.
The latest generation of batteries can be recognized by the red housing cover
Waterproof (W)
The battery is completely waterproof and will not be damaged if the motorcycle is cleaned under high pressure.
Indicator (I)
All batteries are equipped with a battery status indicator.
Simply press the test button. If all 3 blue LEDs light up, the battery is fully charged. If only 2 LEDs light up, it is only half charged (med). The battery must be charged at the latest when only one LED lights up (low).
Replacing a standard lead-acid battery with a JMT lithium-ion battery can save up to 5 kg in weight without any significant effort.
The following advantages speak in favor of JMT lithium-ion batteries:
- approx. 1/3 of the weight of the comparable lead-acid battery
- Unbeatable cost/weight saving ratio
- Can be installed in any position as they contain no acid
- contains no heavy metals
- Balanced discharge/charge of all cells through balancer
- Fast charging with high charging current possible (up to 90% in 6 min)
- very low self-discharge (max. 5% per month)
- good performance even at high temperatures up to 60°C
- Safe technology and long service life
Due to their specific properties, lead-acid batteries can only use 30% of their capacity,
whereas lithium-ion batteries can use almost 100% of their capacity.
For this reason, the lithium versions of JMT batteries require only 1/3 of the capacity of a comparable lead-acid battery for the same starting power.
In addition, a built-in processor ("balancer") ensures an even state of charge for all cells.
The dimensions of the lithium-ion batteries correspond to the dimensions of the original lead-acid batteries with the help of adapters.
The connections are also identical, which is why the battery can be replaced in just a few minutes without any further adjustments.
Please note that only suitable chargers may be used for charging. We recommend JMP chargers.
Please refer to the technical data below for the maximum recommended charging currents.
Under no circumstances should chargers be used that attempt to desulphate deeply discharged batteries below 10 volts with a voltage of more than 14.9 volts before starting the actual charging process.
The maximum charging voltage of 14.9 volts must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
The manufacturer guarantees sufficient starting capacity down to -5 degrees Celsius.
Technology
JMT lithium-ion batteries use iron phosphate (LiFePO4) as the cathode material and use the lithium polymer process in their manufacture.
This means that they cannot burst into flames or explode during normal operation.
The technology and manufacturing process ensure the highest safety standard for lithium batteries.
- 12 V maintenance-free lithium-ion battery
- Recommended charging current 2.25 A
- Maximum charging current for fast charging 22.5 A
